Sprite and Fairys (the makers of koichoco and Imaimo) have their own merchandise shop at fairys.tv/shop where they sell a bunch of exclusive goodies not available anywhere else. But funnily, they had to Gaijin-block it, so that no filthy westerners can get their hands on these goods. Apparently it’s too good for us! ….fortunately you can still buy, and here is how. Just send the link of what you want to buy to yokattaweb.jp and they will reply with a quote (price + fee + shipping). Pay the quote, then wait a week or two. (Ask to use Airmail). There are other mail proxies but this is the main one I use because it’s so cheap.

summer 1/2 Summer by Alcot Honeycomb getting ported to PSP by Alchemist [Official Site]. This was yet another game where they didn’t give the imouto a route (basically on purpose now) and people complained, so they put the imouto route in the PSP version. However no ero for the ero-fans. Too bad :P

They go far beyond that, they added new heroine Matsuri and increased the scenario length for the original story (so now it’s even more boring to read).

And also new CGs. How can we forget new CGs. All of them in their 480 x 272 glory.

For the limited edition (7,708 yen – which is only 568 yen more expensive than regular edition btw), they’re doing a ‘slip’, a B2 tapestry (not necessarily using the art on the left), and a 1/2 Summer Vocal CD which has a total of 3 songs on it. That’s actually pretty good.

This is the game where 70 historical figures in world history are redrawn as bishoujo and then they have to fight and conquer each other. A world-scale war simulator. The protag is a guy and he looks like Rance as well. There was a group translating the PC version of this game at one point, but they were DMCA’d by Tenko in May last year. Release date: 26th September 2013. There’s no new content in the PS3/Vita version apart from the reworked controls and probably a new tutorial.

Ludo-Rathowm: dungeon-crawling ero-RPG with a ton of customization, Dungeons&Dolls is a very fun game to spend time on, with 7 unique H-scenes to unlock and a mysterious sprawling labyrinth, this game should keep you entertained for a while.

UmiTweaks released a patch for Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru 5-8, which adds PS3 Sprites + Voices from the PS3 game into the PC version. Note that translations are by Witch Hunt, while voice and PS3 sprites patch is by UmiTweaks.

Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles 01 Partial patch for Chicken Divers has been released!
Only translates Chicken Divers, which is one part of the three stories that comes with Chronicles 01, the others are The Day After ep00, and Rain Dancer. Chicken Divers is a short story, only 30 minutes long (but fully voiced), Rain dancer is 50mins, and The Day After 00 is 5 hours.

Clock Zero ~Shuuen no Ichibyou~ the otome game is getting a live-action theatre show/adaptation （舞台化＝theatre-fied） [Official Site] EDIT: so is another game called Toki no Kizuna [vndb.org].
There is another one called Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku [vndb.org] [more info] that got a theatre show earlier this year.

I actually own a copy of Clock Zero but have not gotten around to playing it yet XD. It’s only available on PS2 or PSP I believe and it was first released in 2010.

^ DIABOLIK LOVERS promo number one. [Official Site] This is the anime adaptation of the otome game which is airing in Autumn 2013. It was announced back in February but I never blogged it.

There is actually a fan translation project too at [dialovers.piratejewel.net] which I had a kind of a fallout with with the TLers. Sorry, that was my fault. At the time I felt very offended that they wanted to exert control over their users like that, but now I know I went overboard. Of course it was my wrong, but my position remains the same. Once you’ve studied copyright history, you just can’t go back anymore. These are just state-granted exclusive privileges! and then they lied to us that it was property. Sigh… so vile.

^ Machine voicing the parts in a visual novel that are unvoiced. Very helpful for anime listeners who haven’t mastered reading yet. The emphasis in the sentences is wrong, but it’s still remarkably good I think. Note that the above video is from 2008, so I imagine there are even better solutions now? Anyone have a guide?

World End Economica Chp01 Official English Release on DLSite!

Chapter 1 of the doujin VN World End Economica released on DLSite! (this is not the fan translation by Vexed Scans. This is an official english translation.) They’re pricing it at USD $12.90 or €9.72…. which means all 3 episodes is a combined total of $38.7. Episode 02 and episode 03 are not out in English yet.

The game is written by Isuna Hasekura the LN author of Spice & Wolf. The themes are very similar to Spice, it’s still about economics, but this time it takes place on the moon. 2 episodes of the VN is out in Japan so far, and they’re working on the third (which will be the final episode).

Moreover, the game is being translated into 3 languages: English, Chinese & French. The english and chinese versions are being done by Software Bridgeworks LLC. I looked through some of the translations… while they’re not inaccurate, the english can be rigid at places. Sometimes too literal. I would say it’s about the same level as your average fan translation. (actually the beginning was quite good.)

This is an example I found in the docs near the end of the game:
だから、どこかで必ず目が覚めるはずだったのだが、二人同時に目を
覚ましたのは、月曜日が始まる午前零時だった。
Translates to:
Thus, as if somehow knowing when exactly to wake up, the both of us woke up at the same time and found that it was just the start of Monday at midnight.
But these may have been fixed for the final release!
